Where is my data stored?
On your computer only.
How is my data stored?
Secure and fully encrypted. We use your password and a random unique salt to create a secure password (pbkdf2) which is then used to encrypt your credentials (aes-256-gcm).
Can I store my credentials in the cloud?
You can specify in Basaas password manager the location of your vault. Place it in your favorite cloud storage e.g. Dropbox/OneDrive/GoogleDrive to have a backup and sync it to different devices.
Can you restore my master password if I forget it?
Absolutely…NO! The encryption/decryption happens on your device, which is why Basaas never sees, nor wants to know your master password.
Does any of my credentials get transferred to Basaas?
No, all credentials are encrypted and decrypted on your device only. You have to explicitly choose which credentials you want to inject into the current login form.
